The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research is Western Australia’s premier adult medical research institute, investigating the genetic and environmental causes of a range of diseases. Formed in 1998 with a vision of fostering a high-level of collaboration between the State’s medical researchers, their team has made, and continues to make, a number of internationally-important discoveries with the potential to deliver better health to the global community.
Challenge.
Axiom developed an integrated signage strategy for both wayfinding and internal signage for their state-of-the-art medical research facility at the QEII Hospital campus.
Response.
We worked in close partnership with both the Architects and the client to develop a signage solution for this landmark building. Our signage strategy was designed to be an extension of the building’s architecture; taking cues from the material palette and details used throughout the building.
Result.
The elegant sculptural forms of the signage integrate harmoniously into the fabric of the institute. Unobtrusive, yet obvious at the same time, the wayfinding signage intuitively guides visitors to their destination.
