Internships

Giving something back and keeping things fresh. Axiom has an internship program for final year students and recent graduates.

The fine print.

The internship is for 90 hours, completed over a three (3) month period, either one (1) or two (2) days per week.

We do not treat interns as a free resource for us to exploit. That said, we are a small studio, not a large agency and taking on an intern does take time away from our core business. We have two (2) types of internships.

1. Internships for students.

Many students must complete an internship as a mandatory part of their academic study, in order to develop and refine their knowledge and practical abilities, and learn first hand in a professional environment. In most cases this will be part of a formalised and structured programme supported through their educational institution and facilitated by an industry liaison officer.

This is an unpaid internship.

2. Internships for recent graduates.

We agree with AGDA's position that anyone who is not completing an internship as a formal part of their educational course should be treated as an employee, and is subject to the terms and conditions set out by the Fair Work Ombudsman. The intern will work under the supervision of senior designers and directors within Axiom, learning techniques, demonstrating their skills, and building experience for their resume. A graduate intern is an entry-level position for an individual who has completed formal training/certification in their respective field.

This is a paid internship.
